Hello everyone!
Thought it was about time I wrote a journal...there is so much to do on dA, it's one of the things I've been putting off!
Firstly, thanks to all of the wonderful deviants I have met, which is all due to jackie and candice. Thanks girls for all your advice, and listening to all my dumb questions! You have all been so encouraging and helpful, especially Lynne, Deb and Laura - who made my beautiful avatar, (and I have another beauty in reserve which was made by Jackie), Kevin and Marion. I have really enjoyed our conversations! (if I had studied the notes made by Jackie for me, I would have been able to put your avatars up there instead of your names, but I will get to that soon...) And to all of my friends out there, thanks for watching and faving my photos.... It's nice to know you all......................
Now, about me......I've just hit the big 50, but that isn't a scary thing! So much is happening for me this year...a new job as an integration aide (assisting kids with learning or behavoural problems in mainstream schools) and I have two grandkids on the way! I already have a 3 year old grandson, so life is about to get really busy (and expensive...) Both of these babies are due within 12 days of each other! I have two kids (a son and a daugher) and one husband! I live on the outskirts of Melbourne, Victoria, near the Dandenong Ranges - they are the beautiful hills to the east of Melbourne. I wish I lived 'in' the Dandenongs, but at least they are close by.
My hobby is rollerskating! A rather odd sport for the over 40's, I agree, but it is my passion! That is where I met Jackie and Candice (she is a VERY good skater!) I am a member of a masters precision skating team - and by masters, I mean old, not necessarily good, which range in age from 30 to 68! (our 79 yr old retired last year!) We work on a routine all year and then go to Nationals. It is so much fun. I also teach kids and adults the basics of skating.
This has turned out to be a rather long first journal, I promise not to bore you so much next time. (now I've done one, there will be no stopping me!)
